View the cosmos at the 2020 Eastern Sierra Dark Sky Festival
A unique dark sky festival is coming to the Eastern Sierra in 2020! October 16th through 18th, at the Whitmore Recreation Area in Mammoth Lakes, the cosmos will come alive through huge telescopes, lectures from professional astronomers, nightscape and astrophotography workshops, booths/vendors, food trucks, a beer and wine garden, camping onsite in SHIFTPODs, and more!

Astronomy lectures will be given by Professor Xavier Prochaska (UC Santa Cruz), Professor Jessica Werk (University of Washington), and Dr. Cameron Hummels (Caltech). A general Q&A session with these experts will also give you the chance to fire away any astronomical questions that you may have.

Nightscape and astrophotography workshops will be offered with The World At Night’s Oshin Zakarian (IG: oshindzakarian) and Bray Falls (IG: @astrofalls), respectively. Samuel Kahn (IG: @alpineastro) will also be on hand to give tips and help out with your nighttime photography needs.
The event will also feature multiple food trucks, as well as a beer and wine garden serving June Lake Brewing, Wavelength Brewing Co, and Color Wine. Cheers to dark skies and starry nights!
Daily ($85) and Weekend ($165) Passes are now sale-priced until Spring or while supplies last — and each pass includes admittance for one free child as well! Guests can also add-on the hands-on portions of the photography workshops for just $75 each. Space is limited to preserve a high quality experience. All students under 18 in the Eastern Sierra receive free Daily admission with student ID.
